Back to School Paper Plate Wreath

This back to school paper plate wreath is a fun and easy craft for kids to make during the first week back to school! Just print off our free template, color, and create!

This paper plate back to school wreath is made with our free printable template, a paper plate, and some basic coloring supplies. 

You can also print the templates on colored paper and just cut and glue to a paper plate!

It’s easy to hang up with some ribbon or twine.

Supplies Needed

• Paper plate

• Coloring materials – you can use markers, colored pencils, crayons, or even watercolors.

• Paint – optional to paint the paper plate

• Glue

• Back to school templates – get the free printable templates sent to your email at the bottom of the post

• Ribbon or twine – optional to hang the wreath

How to Make a Back to School Paper Plate Wreath

1. Print off the free printable templates.

You can get the free printable templates at the bottom of the post (on the email form with a preview of the template).

2. Cut out the templates.

3. Color the templates.

You will need to color six or seven of the wreath templates to fill the paper plate as shown. You can also choose to do more or less!

4. Cut out the center of a paper plate.

Cut the center of the paper plate out. I like to bend the paper plate slightly to make a cut mark and then you can get your scissors inside to cut out this portion.

5. Paint the paper plate. 

This is optional, but some of the paper plate might show through depending on where you glue the templates on.

6. Glue the templates to the paper plate.

Glue all of the templates to the paper plate. You can space them out more and glue less down if you do not want to color six templates.

7. Add a loop of twine to the back for hanging.

Tape the twine to the back for hanging.

These back to school wreaths are a fun activity during the first week of school!

Decorate a bunch and hang them up in the classroom or on a bulletin board.
