Fall is definitely coming soon and what better fruit to enjoy in Fall but apples? I’m going to be focusing on apples for the month of September to give you some unique and fun ways to bake and cook with apples. I grew up on an apple orchard so all year round we have an abundance of apples. But nothing is better than getting them fresh in the Fall. It’s simply the best.
For the first apple series recipe, I decided to make fried apple ice cream topping. Really simple to do and tastes delicious!
- -2-3 apples
- -Lemon Juice
- -Brown Sugar
- -Maple Syrup or Caramel
1) First select 2-3 apples of your choice. I chose more of a tart apple and left the skin on but if you prefer sweeter choose a sweet apple and peel the apple!
2) Slice the apples and add some lemon juice to keep them from browning
3) Dip them in brown sugar
4) Fry for 7-8 minutes until soft. I fried them in processed coconut oil but you could also use butter.
5) Top on ice cream and drizzle with maple syrup or caramel.
